I Walk the Dog

I am a very lucky man
because I have a faithful friend.
We stand by each other, come what may,
and you can meet us out there every day.

When we are walking down the street,
there are lovely neighbors to meet.
And we exchange, like all neighbors do,
what has happened and what is new.

Information is a constant give and take,
but sometimes all you need is one single sniff.

I walk the dog
in the sun and sometimes in the rain.
I walk the dog
in the morning and in the evening again.
I walk the dog
in summer, autumn, winter, and spring.
To walk the dog
is a most wonderful thing.

We show up every day, you know where and when,
and tomorrow you will see us again.
